Kindergarten Kick-Off: A Milestone Family Event

Kindergarten Kick-Off is a milestone family event designed to support, encourage, and equip the families in your ministry as they send a child off to kindergarten. It gives parents and kids a shared time of play, honest conversation, and prayer, so families leave knowing they aren’t walking into this season alone, and neither is their child.

This resource includes everything you need to plan, lead, and follow up on the event: a full leader’s guide, standalone guides for your parent and kids’ breakout leaders, printables for the day of the event, a take-home Kindergarten Blessing Bag with its own set of printables, and presentation slides and social media graphics to support it all.

We often remember to celebrate the faith milestones families experience (like baby dedication, baptism, etc.), but when we step into the everyday-life milestones, we show our families support in more ways than one and build a connection that allows for deeper partnership.

Rather than giving families a checklist of what kindergarten will be like, this event is designed to create a time and space where kids and parents can connect with each other, hear encouragement from you as the ministry leader, and leave having prayed over their child and the milestone of going to kindergarten. The event is intended to be attended by the rising kindergartener and the parents.

Schedule of Event: (45-60 minutes)
