Christmas productions can be challenging. This simple production will have you smiling and on your way to a great, memorable Christmas in no time – no matter the ages of your kids!
The Joy of Christmas can be customized to include any number of kids (minimum recommended is 5-6). There are 5 groups that perform, each reflecting on the joy that Jesus brings!
The lines for kids are simple, memorable, and in rhyme, accompanied by narrations that can be completed by an older student, preteen, youth, or even an adult! Production notes include suggestions on set design (hint – it’s minimal!), song suggestions, and more. You’ll love this simple but powerful production that parents and kids will remember.
When we originally performed this in our church, it took us about 40-45 minutes – including a 5-10-minute devotional from a senior pastor at the end. The script itself will take about 35 minutes, depending on the ages of your children and how fast they sing (and speak!). If you need to lengthen your performance, I’d encourage you to incorporate a time of congregational singing.
Links for the songs mentioned in this production are included but must be purchased to be used in this play (if using tracks). This play uses simple, Christmas-themed worship songs that could be played by a minimal worship team. Even without the music, this is a great and easy Christmas production!
