Ash Wednesday Prayer Stations for Kids

Ash Wednesday can be a toughie for kids ministry! Helping kids understand the depth and seriousness of God’s great sacrifice is no simple task. That’s why I created this resource! This download includes 4 prayer stations that are kid-friendly and help them focus on the big concept of God’s sacrifice for them. 

Each station includes a scripture or prayer focus and a hands-on activity. The prayer stations include: prayer, proclaim, play, and painting. Each station can be completed in about 15 minutes.

These prayer stations can be used in multiple ways, making this resource fully customizable! I’ve used these prayer stations as an “Ash Wednesday Family Service” – where families brought their children of any age and rotated through the stations in a one-hour period. At the end, they received their ashes from our pastor. You could also use these prayer stations as activities for just your kids while their parents are in an adult service on Ash Wednesday.
