Living Water Lent Family Challenge Cards

Lent is a time of reflection. Encourage your families to reflect with each other on their actions, their humanity, and how great our God is. This Living Water Lent Family Challenge includes 6 weeks of activity prompts for families to take home and do together to do just that – reflect upon themselves and on the greatness of our God and draw closer to each other and Christ in the process.

• Week 1: Treasures in Heaven (Matthew 6:19-24)
• Week 2: Don’t Worry… Be Happy (Matthew 6:25-34)
• Week 3: Glasses of Grace (Matthew 7:1-6)
• Week 4: Expecting the Best (Matthew 7:7-12)
• Week 5: Freedom in Christ (Matthew 6:5-15)
• Week 6: Countercultural Experience (Matthew 7:13-14)

What does each week include?

Every week has a passage for families to read together and reflect on. Based on that passage, the families will receive activities with the following:

Weekly Challenge- The goal of this card is for families to physically do something together.

Authentic Actions- These cards will contain a challenge for each specific member of each family. It could be something as simple as praying for that family member or giving them a handwritten note of encouragement.

Table Talk- This card will always have a question for families to read aloud and ponder together.

Extra Credit- This card will look different every week. It will be an extension of one of the other four categories- Weekly Challenge, Table Talk, Authentic Actions, or Research. The goal of this card is to push families deeper into that week’s topic, and ultimately grow closer both to Christ and to each other.

Research- This card will require each family to look further into that week’s subject. Whether it’s finding a song or watching a video, they’ll be challenged to put Scripture into real-life context.
