Kids often have mixed feelings about heading back to school for the year, and this Mixed Feelings lesson helps them explore those emotions in a healthy, Godly way!Â
Mixed Feelings is an emotions-focused lesson all about those first-day feelings! By looking at Philippians 4:4-7 and John 14:27, kids will learn that God made us with emotions, that He wants us to talk to Him about our emotions, and that no matter what we are feeling, we can ask for God’s peace to help us keep our emotions in control.
This download includes everything you need to complete the lesson, like a large-group leader guide, a small-group leader guide, and all the necessary printables. There are even presentation graphics and social media graphics for you to share on your ministry’s social media accounts. Use these as a reminder of the lesson throughout the week or as a sneak peek the week before.
This lesson includes early-arriver/walk-in activities, a large-group game, worship song suggestions, an interactive lesson on Philippians 4:4-7, worship response activity, and 4 small group activities. There are 80-90 minutes’ worth of activities included in all.Â
If you want to equip families to continue the conversation at home on a deeper level, check out our First-Day Feelings Back-to-School Family Devotion! It pairs perfectly with this lesson or stands alone!
