3 Ways to Simplify Your KidMin Social Media Strategy

Social media is a valuable tool at our disposal, especially when it comes to partnering with the parents in our ministry and connecting beyond Sunday morning, but it can feel overwhelming, time-consuming, and intimidating. So here are 3 ways to simplify your KidMin social media strategy so you can better utilize this tool for discipleship: Lean into short, simple content. B-roll is short, supplemental video footage (like scenery, close-ups, or action shots) used to add visual interest and context. You don’t have to have a 2-minute or even 1-minute video of you talking for every video post. Use short clips of 5-10 seconds from a Sunday morning and add quotes, information, Bible verses, reminders, etc. as text over the b-roll. This works for carousel posts too! Choose one picture. Add a text box over the picture. Change the text on each...

8 Ways to Encourage Families To Celebrate Lent (No Matter Their Background)

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Lent is the Christian season, beginning on Ash Wednesday and ending with Holy Week, that encourages believers to pray, fast, and serve as a way to prepare their hearts for the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The ultimate goal of Lent is to draw closer to God. Much like Advent prepares our hearts for Christmas, Lent prepares our hearts for Easter. Not all Christian traditions place the same emphasis on Lent. I never observed Lent growing up, and 99% of what I know about Lent, I've learned as an adult. I have friends who take the season very seriously with daily devotions and family-wide fasting, and I have other friends who don't really pay much attention until Holy Week. At our current church, we host an Ash Wednesday service, our pastor leads us through a Lenten series each Sunday leading up...
