It’s back to school season! Parents are buying school supplies, kids are meeting teachers, and kidmin leaders are on the hunt for ways to celebrate this monumental time of year in every child’s life. So we compiled some of our best back-to-school resources just for YOU, kidmin leader! Enjoy!

Back to School Blessings Prayer Cards: Share this printable with the families in your ministry and encourage parents to use these scriptures to speak blessings over their children on their first days and weeks of school. Families can print them out and post the prayers around their house or car, and they’re small enough to fit into a purse or wallet. Use the provided social media graphics to remind parents of these prayers through your ministry’s social media accounts.

Pop Up Sunday Promo Kit: Use this kit to help communicate your upcoming Promotion Sunday and add some excitement to your day. It uses a popcorn theme for “Pop Up” Sunday. Serve popcorn and use these printables to make the day special, no matter what the theme or topic of your lesson is.

Lunch at School Printable: When visiting the children in your ministry for lunch at school, use this free printable to help make it easier on your families and your local schools. This printable may just be the first step; check with your families and schools to confirm all of the necessary protocols.

Back to School Prayer Bash: This Back to School Prayer Bash is a 1-hour event that helps kids or families start the new school year off in prayer. Participants move through three types of stations that allow them to pray for the year, minister to teachers, and have some fun. At the prayer stations, kids and families are invited to pray for teachers, counselors, bus drivers, students, schools, and more.

Best Year Ever Back to School Lesson: This 80-minute back to school lesson will help kids learn how to have the BEST YEAR EVER by teaching them to seek God for wisdom and submit their school year to Him. It includes games, object lessons, activities, and Scripture(Ephesians 5:15-17) that will help kids start this school year right, so it can be their best year ever.

Movin’ On Up Promotion Sunday Lesson: Movin’ On Up is a fun, balloon-themed Promotion Sunday lesson that encourages kids to think intentionally about how they can grow mentally, physically, spiritually, and socially this year. This resource has everything you need to complete a 90-minute lesson that teaches children about Luke 2:41-52.

SLLRP Introduction Lesson: SLLRP is the behavior management system I implemented in my ministry to help remind kids of the expectations at church and to help them better soak up the lessons God has to teach them. (See a full, free outline of the SLLRP behavior management system here). This single, one-time lesson uses Psalm 63:1 and Psalm 42:1-2 to introduce the idea (and the why) of SLLRP to kids, then uses interactive activities to put each expectation into practice. It’s the perfect launching tool for implementing this effective behavior management system at the beginning of the new school year!

Calling All Superheroes Volunteer Training: Your volunteers need a back-to-school refresher too! Real heroes don’t wear capes, and your volunteers are the superheroes your kids need and deserve. Using this 1-hour, superhero-themed training resource, you’ll equip your volunteers to love, protect, and serve the children in your ministry. By inspiring your team with a pep talk from Kid President and our favorite superheroes, your volunteers will understand why they are the heroes of your ministry and how they can be super volunteers.
