This hands-on, 10-minute object lesson uses a standard ruler and three bogus rulers to emphasize the need for making sure we get our knowledge on how to live from the right source (the Bible). It invites a few kids to take a hands-on role in the object lesson, and it references 2 Peter 1:3.

The Bible is the source of truth, knowledge, wisdom, and instruction. God’s word is reliable and trustworthy. This object lesson will help kids see they need to go to the Bible for help in how to live their lives.

In this lesson, a standard ruler is used to measure something, and the result is given. Then several bogus rulers that have the same look but have been made up without following a specific standard are used to measure the same object. The result is four different numbers, and only one is correct.

This download includes:

This object lesson was easy to adjust to fit the needs of my K-2nd grade class. It worked very well as an intro to a lesson on how the Bible is our tool that helps us know truth.
