Easter is one of the most meaningful opportunities we have in kids ministry. It is a chance to help children understand the hope, joy, and new life we have because of Jesus. Worship plays a powerful role in helping kids experience and remember these truths long after the service ends.
If you are planning your Easter gathering, here are seven songs that work especially well for helping kids celebrate the resurrection in engaging and meaningful ways.
1. For God So Loved the World (John 3:16) – Seeds Family Worship – This song beautifully captures the heart of the gospel message in a way kids can easily understand. Rooted in Scripture, it clearly communicates God’s love and the gift of salvation through Jesus. It connects the resurrection story to God’s great love for the world and helps kids understand why Easter matters. Find the lyric video for this song here and the motions + lyric video here.
2. I Thank God – Doorpost Songs – Few songs capture Easter joy as naturally as this one. Its energy and celebration make it perfect for opening a service or creating a high-engagement worship moment where kids can actively participate. It celebrates transformation and moving from darkness to life, which mirrors the resurrection message perfectly. Find the lyric video here.
3. I Come Alive – Dylan Arms Kids Worship – Easter reminds us that because Jesus rose again, we are given new life in Him. I Come Alive helps kids connect personally with that truth through simple language and an easy-to-sing melody. It shifts the focus from only what happened to Jesus to what His resurrection means for us. Kids are reminded of the new life, hope, and joy found in Him. Find the lyric video for this song here and the motions + lyric video here.
4. In Christ Alone – Doorpost Songs – This modern kids version of a beloved worship classic introduces deep theological truth in an accessible way. It creates a meaningful moment for kids to reflect on the victory of Jesus over sin and death. It clearly proclaims the foundation of our faith and reminds kids that our hope rests fully in the finished work of Christ. Find the lyric video here.
5. You’re With Me – Dylan Arms Kids Worship – The resurrection reminds us that Jesus did not just defeat death. He also promised to always be with us. You’re With Me reinforces that comforting truth and helps kids understand they are never alone because of what Jesus accomplished at Easter. It connects Easter victory with everyday faith and reminds kids that Jesus’ presence is with them long after the celebration ends. Find the lyric video for this song here and the motions + lyric video here.
6. Jesus is Alive – Joyful Noize Kidz Worship – This song is a simple song with easy-to-learn lyrics for little ones. It’s full of motions and energy and focuses on what Jesus did for us. It’s all about how Jesus is alive, making it a great Easter worship song. Find the lyric video here.
7. Hosanna Rock (Remix) – Yancy – Can it really be an Easter worship playlist without this song? This song is a classic, and with this new party remix, it’s not just for preschoolers! Great for Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday, this song invites kids to shout Hosanna and praise the Lord! Find the lyric video here.
The goal of a great Easter worship song for kids is not simply energetic music or a chance for kids to get the wiggles out. The goal is helping kids understand and celebrate the life-changing truth that Jesus is alive. When songs are Scripture-centered, engaging, and meaningful, they become more than moments in a service. They become truths kids carry with them long after Easter Sunday ends.
Praying your Easter celebrations are filled with joy, worship, and opportunities for kids to encounter the hope of Jesus!
